He is a very cute Hunter, and I love his face in the upper right corner.
They usually tape down certain parts of their clothes to reduce wind resistance. (someones already said this probably)
The way the virus seems to work is it speeds up the growth of certain things, so its likely the Hunter before the infection, had damaged muscles (they tear when youe exert yourself) and they healed during the infection, it made them knit tighter or something.
Smokers have their cancerous tissues replicate faster, that's why they have all those growths.
