Vocaloid2: Sweet Ann

I AM ALIVE. Things have been insane recently, and so I have a huge backlog of things to upload! This is the first of MANY.

This is a faux cover of the Vocaloid2, Sweet Ann (the first Vocaloid2 - she was developed by PowerFX and is their only released Vocaloid2 product). I made her in the style of the more popular Vocaloid2 products, which are by CRYPTON co. (Her original box is here).

She originally looked much less "anime style", and much more "Disney style" instead (because she is a Western vocaloid, I thought it made sense to illustrate her with a western cartoon style). I will post the original style in scraps sometime. However, she did not match the other Vocaloid2 very well with that style, so I rearranged her face!


For those who do not know, Vocaloid is instrument software that allows musicmakers to create any song using the singers' voice. The most popular one is Miku Hatsune, and all the ones by CRYPTON company. It's a very powerful tool for digital musicians, and oddly enough, a very big net culture evolved around it. CRYPTON co. was smart about marketing it, by creating a "character" (a virtual singer/diva personality) for the Vocaloids, and a huge fandom evolved around it. People come together for collaborations (music+lyrics+art+video to create music videos for the vocaloids.

My only wish was that the english vocaloids would become more popular, especially Sweet Ann. They don't have official "character stats" so people aren't as attached to them! I wish I could amend that.
